Verify that your computer recognizes your DVD drive.
To do this:
Double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop. The
DVD drive should appear in the list.

Check the Toshiba Web site for new information on DVD
drives and their operation.
A blank screen appears while watching a DVD movie or
title.
Disable the Shut off Monitor feature in the Display Properties
using the following steps:

Click the secondary mouse button on a blank area of the
desktop.

Click Properties.

Click the Screen Saver tab.

Deselect Shut off Monitor.
Jumping video lines appear around the DVD video
window.
To change the screen's display resolution:
1
Click Start, Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.

Click Appearance and Themes, and double-click the
Display icon.
The Display Properties dialog box appears.

Click the Settings tab.

Next to the words Desktop Area, move the slider to a
lower setting, such as 800 x 600 or 640 x 480.

Click OK.
