Using face detection
Option Description
If your camera detects closed eyes, it will
take two photos in succession.
Blink
Detection
The options may differ depending on the shooting mode.
• Hold your camera still while
'Capturing!' is displayed on the
screen.
• When 'Picture taken with eyes
closed' message appears, take
another photo.

Press [MENU/OK].
• Press [Shutter] to return to Shooting mode.
• Face detection may not be effective when:
- the subject is far from the camera (The focus frame will appear
orange for Smile Shot and Blink Detection)
- it is too bright or too dark
- the subject is not facing the camera
- the subject is wearing sunglasses or a mask
• Face detection is not available when using a photo style, colour,
staturation, or the digital zoom.
• When Smile Shot or Blink Detection is set, the timer is not
available.
• When you use the face detection option, the focus area will be set
to Center AF.
