Lime deposits • Lime (calcium carbonate) is a harmless, natural mineral found in water, and may form a thin deposit on the inner walls of the kettle, on the lime filter, and on the surface of the water. Lime is not harmful to your health, but may give beverages an unpleasant taste. To extend the life of the kettle, remove the lime regularly by cleaning the kettle with a solution of water and vinegar.
