Preparation
Measuring
In preparation to print the measurement result, please
connect the activated ASCII printer (available separately)
to the serial interface on the back of the device.
The device can determine melting points of powdery
substances up to 360 °C.
Oven temperature is displayed in the display.
• Adjust starting temperature with up and down buttons
(approx. 3 °C below expected meltingpoint).
• Press start button.
When the starting temperature is reached, you will hear an
acoustic signal three times.
• Insert filled (≈4 mm) capillary with opening upside.
• Press start button again.
Temperature rises with 1 °C/min.
• Observe the sample and press the print button when
melting point is reached.
The result will be displayed and stored.
If an ASCII printer is connected and turned on, the
measurement result is printed directly.
When three acoustic signals are given, the device has
cooled down to the preset starting temperature and is
ready for a new measurement.
Notes!
Up to 3 samples can be tested at the same time with
ascending temperature-sequence.
The device automatically switches off the heating after
≈5 min if no further measuring is made.
Please be aware that melting-points can differ compared
to other measuring-devices due to measuring-tolerances.
