7. MAINTENANCE SERVICE

Gritting servicing is based on proper usage and keeping the machine clean. Transport drives
(to work place) shall be taken with empty container and with telescopic articulated shaft
dismounted from tractor's PTO shaft.
WARNING!
It is UNACCEPTABLE to transport bags with material to be spread on the
machine.
Clumped salt or sand should be shredded before loading gritter's container.
WARNING!
During each interval in gritter's operation, turn the gritter's drive off, take
ignition key out and lower the machine onto the ground.

7.1. Everyday maintenance and storing

The following should be done everyday after finishing work:
check all visible external parts and assemblies and their connections; tighten all loose bolt
connections and replace all worn or damaged parts,
clean the container and sweep out any remaining sand or salt. Next wash and dry,
it is recommended, to store the machine on paved ground, preferably under the roof.
After working season:
clean and wash gritter thoroughly;
examine paintwork and if need be clean out of rust and dirt, degrease and cover with primer,
and when dry, cover with surface paint;
repair or replace damaged or worn parts;
clean and put solid grease on threads of tensioning bolts for transmission belt and threads of
valve and discharger bolts;
lubricate all other yellow-marked points in accordance with lubrication schedule;
release tensioning of transmission belt and tensioning of v-belts;
assembled and serviced gritter is recommended to be stored in dry place and on even surface
with empty container, in manner which will not to cause any injury to people and animals.

7.1.1. Restarting the machine after storing period

After storage period, before the machine is used:
check the gritter's technical condition, and the transmission in particular,
supplement the paint where missing,
make sure that all nuts and screws are tightened properly (Tab. 3),
make sure that all guards are in place,
protect all moving parts with grease in order to prevent their baking and creating any sources of
corrosion, which significantly influences gritter's proper operation.
