DP2-BSW APPLICATION SOFTWARE This user’s manual is for the OLYMPUS DP70 Microscope Digital Camera in conjunc- tion with the OLYMPUS DP2-BSW application software. About the contents of this manual This manual describes the installation of the DP2-BSW image analysis program, the setting up of the DP70 camera for use with the DP2-BSW image analysis program, and the way to operate the DP70 camera with the DP2-BSW image analysis program.

You can operate your camera by turns with DP2-BSW and another software that you have already installed. Simultaneously running different software packages that work with the DP70 is, however, not possible. Prepare your computer for the installation. This step is described in this manual, beginning on page 6. Start with step 3.

Calibrations Supersampling Your DP70 camera can reach a higher resolution with separate images than the CCD chip provides for. This acquisition procedure, called supersampling, is not available for the live mode. An acquisition using supersampling requires a relatively large amount of time. The task bar will be displayed in the status bar.
Camera settings In the Camera Settings dialog box, click the Olympus DP70 entry, to open the pages that are specially laid-out for your camera. General Use this dialog box in the Camera Settings to make a variety of general camera settings.

Camera settings Mirror Select the Horizontal check box to mirror the image horizontally during acquisition. Select the Vertical check box to mirror the image vertically during acquisition. The two forms of mirroring can be combined with each other. Use the mirroring function to match the presentation of the image on your monitor with that in the eyepiece.
Camera settings By default, when you acquire images, no pseudo color tables will be used. In this case, the Pseudo Color > Off option is selected. Select the Use high/low pseudo color table option to have all of the pixels with a low intensity value displayed in blue, and all of those with a high intensity value displayed in red.

This process will be repeated until flatfield correction images have been ac- quired for all of the objectives that were selected in step 3.
