Progressive Scan

This function is available when video output is component. This setting
enables you to select a desired progressive mode. To view "Progressive
scan mode", fi rst connect the component cable. (See page 19) Be sure
the Component cables are connected properly.

selected.
Progressive setting is only available when the Recorder is in stop
mode.

Setting up the Audio Options

This function allows you to setup the Audio options.
1.
With the unit in Stop mode, and press the MENU button.
Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Setup, and then press the OK button.

Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Audio, and then press the OK button.

Press the ▲▼ buttons to select the desired audio option, and then

Selects if audio signals are output from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
(COAXIAL).
On : Normally select this.
Press the OK button and select "Dolby Digital, " "DTS, " or "MPEG"
for further settings.

Off : The infl uence of the digital circuit upon the analogue circuit is
minimum.
The following setup items switches the method of outputting audio
signals when you connect a component such as an amplifi er (receiver)
with a digital input jack.
For connection details, see "AV Receiver Connections" on page 19.

If you connect a component that does not accept the selected
audio signal, a loud noise (or no sound) will come out from
the speakers, and may affect your ears or cause speaker
damage.
Dolby Digital (DVDs only)
Selects the type of Dolby Digital signal.
D-PCM : Select this when the recorder is connected to an audio
component lacking a built-in Dolby Digital decoder.
You can select whether the signals conform to Dolby
