Capacity required =
gold electrolyte +
brightener additive
reduction ring
!
If larger parts are to be electroplated (3-part, 4-part
splints, etc.), these can be contacted using several
copper rods. In this case the power levels are added
together.
Typical calculation:
➂ 3-part splint (e.g. 2 anterior teeth, 1 premolar),
electroforming thickness: 0.2 mm
➜ 86 ml (level 7) + 37 ml (level 4) = 123 ml
Calculating the capacity required:
The capacity is determined on the basis of the calcu-
lated quantity of gold electrolyte and the brightener
additive required (4 ml per contact). The amounts
stated must be treated as minimum capacities, even if
the required amount of gold electrolyte is less!
Provided that the capacity is adequate, always use the
larger beaker. The number of copings given in brackets
for the 250 ml and the 600 ml beaker therefore refers
only to those capacities which cannot be used in the
next largest beaker.
Selecting the components:
distance piece
Please note:
calculated capacity
< 90 ml
• 1-2 parts
• 100 ml beaker (minimum quantity 50 ml)
• small magnetic agitator rod (round)
• 3 reduction rings
• distance piece for 100 ml beaker
calculated capacity
< 220 ml
• 2- 4 (6) parts
• 250 ml beaker (minimum quantity 85 ml)
• medium magnetic agitator rod (round)
• 2 reduction rings
• distance piece for 250 ml beaker
