INTRODUCTION

The Newswift Motorised System is a highly compact satellite earth terminal, capable of
operating with most of the geostationary C, X, Ku and DBS band satellites, which are
currently in orbit or are planned.
Its function is to transmit TV programming (or communications, depending upon the options
ordered) and to be capable of monitoring its own transmissions from many sites around the
world.
The system has been designed to contain all the elements that allow reliable transmissions
to be made. The many variants allowed with this flexible design are contained within a
stylised cover or remote in an operator's environment.
The antenna and associated parts may be mounted either on a vehicle or a permanent base
while the control elements are mounted in a standard 19" rack system in a benign
environment.
The Antenna Control Unit allows the operator to deploy or stow the antenna with minimum
effort from within the operator's environment.
The elevation handle, operation manual and wiring kit to release brakes are stowed in the
vehicle cab.
