Charging the Battery

Before first use, make sure the mains voltage available in your area
corresponds to the operating voltage stated on the type label of the
charger.
1. Plug the charger into a mains socket and the cable of the charger into
the charging socket of the hair trimmer in order to charge the battery.
Make sure the hair trimmer is switched off; otherwise the built-in bat-
tery will not be charged.
2. Alternatively you can put the hair trimmer on the charging base. Make
sure the electric contacts fit right. Plug the cable of the charger into the
charging station. You cannot plug it in the wrong way. The charging
indicator LED (3) lights up red while charging.
3. The batteries have to be charged for at least 8 hours. The charger
does not stop charging automatically. Disconnect the charger from the
power mains manually.
4. After charging, unplug the charger from mains.
Hints:
With fully charged batteries, the hair trimmer can be operated for approx.
45 minutes.
The operating time will slightly decrease after each charge. This is a
characteristic of all rechargeable batteries. To prevent this, we suggest
emptying the batteries completely after 10 charging cycles. Then fully
recharge the batteries and it will return to optimum performance after
recharging.
The hair trimmer can also be used while connected with the charger. In
this case the battery will not be charged.

Preparation

Make sure the hair trimmer is in good condition. Oil the blade every
time before use. Use the oil sparingly and wipe off excessive oil with a
cloth. Fill the small oil bottle with vegetable oil.
Place a towel around the neck of the person whose hair is being cut to
prevent bits of hair falling down the collar.
