Chapter Tree: Setting Up Multiple Zones
Co nnecting the External Infrared Receivers and IR Repeaters, co ntinued
Your new audio-video receiver supports the IR-9991 two-
way external infrared (IR) remote transceiver control. The
IR-9991 enables you to use the Receiver's PowerTouch to
operate the receiver if it is:
in a stereo closet/cabinet
behind glass doors
in another zone
in any situation where the device to be controlled is not
visible
You can substitute Xantech (291-80, 480-30, or 490-30 se-
ries) IR receivers for the IR-9991. However, these devices are
one-way only, and will not supply system status feedback
to PowerTouch.
For more information about using external IR receivers in
another zone, see "Chapter Four: Setting Up Multiple Zones"
on page 49.

or 283-00) are compatible with your new audio-video re-
ceiver.
