Troubleshoot ing Guide

What might seem to be a malfunction in your unit may just be the result of slight misoperation or misw iring.
Before calling service, first check the follow ing table for possible problems.
PROBLEM
The pow er does not turn on.
No sound can be heard, or the
volume is low .
Nothing happens w hen the
buttons are pressed.
The sound quality is poor or
distorted.
Radio reception is poor.
The memory is erased w hen
the ignition is turned off.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
The fuse has blow n.
Attenuator is turned on.
The fader or balance settings are set all the w ay to one
side.
The input/output w ires or w iring harness are connected
incorrectly.
The value of " V OFFSET " is low .
The computer chip in the unit is not functioning normally.
One of the speaker w ires is being pinched by a screw in
the car.
The speakers are not w ired correctly.
The car antenna is not extended.
The antenna control w ire is not connected.
The battery w ire has not been connected to the proper
terminal.
The ignition and battery w ire are incorrectly connected.
After checking for short circuits in the w ires, replace the
fuse w ith one w ith the same rating.
Turn off Attenuator.
Reset the fader or balance settings.
Reconnect the input/output w ires or the w iring harness
correctly. See the section on "Connecting Wires to
Terminals".
Increase the value of " V OFFSET " .
Press the reset button on the unit (see p. 5).
Check the speaker w iring.
Reconnect the speaker w ires so that each output
terminal is connected to a different speaker.
Pull the antenna out all the w ay.
Connect the w ire correctly, referring to the section on
"Connecting Wires to Terminals".
