MCI Board

The MCI Board is a 2/3 long PCI plug-in
board. As the Motion Control interface, it pro-
vides the required interfaces to the system
environment and the functionality not avail-
able in the hardware and software of the
PCU. These are:

PLC: SIMATIC S7 CPU 315-2DP
•
PROFIBUS-DP with Motion Control func-
tionality
•
MPI (Multiple Point Interface)
•
SRAM for retentive NC and PLC data
•
Internal logic (e.g. PROFIBUS clock gen-
eration, watchdog, etc.)
