- Page 3 Installation - Pop-up waste Operation: Dissemble the pop-up waste and reassemble onto the basin. (see Fig 1) Insert the vertical control rod down through the hole in the back of the mixer body. Slide the bearing (lip nearest the ball) over the short end of the horizontal control rod, push into the waste and clamp in position by screwing on the ball joint retainer.
