Engine Oil and Filter Change
Change the engine oil and oil filter
at the scheduled time. The engine
should always be warm when the
oil is changed so the oil will drain
easily. The procedure is as fol-
lows:
1. Remove the bolts and the
under cowling. (DL650XA)
2. Place the motorcycle on the
side stand.
3. Remove the oil filler cap 1.
4. Remove the drain plug 2 and
gasket 3 from the bottom of
the engine and drain the
engine oil into a drain pan.
 CAUTION
Hot engine oil and exhaust
pipes can burn you.
Wait until the oil drain plug and
exhaust pipes are cool enough
to touch with bare hands
before draining oil.
