Volk Eye Check Quick Start Manual

> Soft Button Functions
Home Returns directly to the Patient Details screen. If already in
the Patient Details screen, displays the About/Labels.
Start Short press to initiate a new session & enter capture mode
Long press to analyze, freestyle mode & save patient details
Attract To offer an audible cue to attract attention when in capture
mode (audio needs to be enabled in Eye Check Settings)
Review To initiate review mode from the home or capture screen
Upload To initiate session data uploading
- Amber light indicates uploading in progress
- Green light indicates uploading complete
- Red light indicates not uploaded
Application To take user to the Eye Check Settings for upload, report
Settings and audio feature set up
Session Short press to generate and save the Session Report file

Help Long press to activate Help dialogue
Back Short press to go back to previous screen
Good photos Indicates number of valid photos in current
session
Poor photos Indicates number of poor photos in current
session
Correct distance Indicates most effective patient/practitioner
distance
Distance too far Indicates move closer to patient
Distance too close Indicates move back from patient
Brightness level Optimum level between 70-85
Zoom Pre-set zoom level
Battery Indicates remaining battery life
Gaze Indicator EC Displayed in Eye Check mode to remind user
to direct patient attention towards off-center
fixation target
Displayed in Contact Lens mode to remind
Gaze Indicator CL
user to direct patient attention to center of the
lens
> Volk Eye Check Modes of Operation:
Eye Check Mode
Provides measurements of deviation, pupil & iris size, and MRD. Used to
assist in detection, screening, and diagnostics of certain eye conditions
such as strabismus, anisocoria, ptosis, and buphthalmos, as well as to
measure lid position & eye aperature.
Contact Lens Mode
Provides detailed measurements of pupils, iris diameter, lid position,
corneal sag, and pupil eccentrity. It is typically used to assist in the fitting of
soft and hard contact lenses, and in oculoplastic lid measurement.
