FSA ��� settings
4.4.1

Configuration of USB link

1. Switch on the FSA 500 and connect it to
a PC/Laptop by way of USB.
2. In "DSA" select the application "FSA ���/���".
 The FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] software
is started.
 The Settings window opens.

The Settings window opens automatically the first
time the software is started. The default setting in
the Connection box is the option USB.
3. Select <F12>.
 The USB link is established, LED A flashes
(green).

The FSA 500 is ready for operation.

Bluetooth configuration

Only the Bluetooth USB adapter provided can be
used for the Bluetooth connection to the FSA 500.
The Bluetooth hardware is incorporated in the
DCU 130. Therefore, the supplied Bluetooth USB
adapter is not required.
1. Select the "Settings" test step.
2. Select <F12>.
 The Settings window opens.
3. Select <F6> Pairing.
 The MAC address of the FSA 500 is read out via
the USB link.
 If a Toshiba Bluetooth driver has not yet been
installed on the PC/Laptop, installation of the
Toshiba Bluetooth driver starts automatically.

Do not plug the Bluetooth USB adapter into the
PC/Laptop until requested to do so during driver
installation. Heed and follow the instructions on
the screen during Bluetooth driver installation.

4. Re-start the PC/Laptop to successfully conclude
installation.
 The Bluetooth Manager starts automatically.
The Bluetooth Manager symbol appears in the
task bar, refer to Section 3.6.2.
 DSA starts automatically.
5. In "DSA" select the application "FSA ���/���".
 The FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] software is
started.
6. Select the Settings test step.
7. Select <F12>.
 The Settings window opens.
8. Select <F6> Pairing.
 The MAC address of the FSA 500 is read out via
the USB link.
 Remove the USB connecting cable.
 The option Bluetooth is entered in the box
FSA 500.
9. Select the Bluetooth transmission power.

With normal transmission power, the range is at
least 30 meters. The transmission power for Japan
is at least 3 meters (refer to Section 8.7).
10. Select <F12>.
 Bluetooth link established, LED A flashes (blue).

software is described in the Online Help.

An electro-hybrid vehicle must be selected in
the vehicle identification to be able to select the
FSA 050 test steps in the start screen of the FSA 500
program.
