Use
1. Insert two new 1.5 V AA batteries into the battery
compartment (17) according to the markings on the back
of the radio. OR Connect a mains adaptor to the socket
(16) (batteries and adaptor are not included).
2. Roll the on/off switch upwards to turn the radio on and
adjust the volume using the same control. POWER – The
light shines when the radio is turned on.
3. FM reception: Press the [FM] switch (6). The FM indicator

will come on.
4. AM reception: Press the [AM] switch (8). The AM indicator
)
(9
will come on. Select the desired band from medium
wave or short wave 1-7 using the band selector (1).

5. Tune into the desired frequency using the tuning knob (2).

The chosen frequency is displayed in the window (3).
6. When the desired frequency has been set and the radio
signal is strong enough, the reception indicator (10) will

come on.
7. For FM or SW reception it is best to extend the telescopic
3
aerial (11) and angle it for the best reception.
8. MW reception occurs via the internal ferrite aerial, so
4
reception is altered by turning the entire radio.
9. There is a switch for Local/DX sensitivity which improves
SW and FM reception under certain conditions. This switch
should normally be set to DX. To receive local stations with
strong signals or in case of strong electrical interference,
you can switch to Local.

10. Plug your headphones into the headphone socket
(15). The built-in loudspeaker will automatically be
disconnected.
11. To turn the radio off just roll the on/off switch (14) down
until the POWER light goes out.
