Lines

Both the discharge and liquid return condensate lines must be kept to a minimum
for maximum system performance. Use a factory approved line set of 55 ft. (75 ft.
line set available). The system capacity is rated to 75 feet (22.9 m) tubing distance
between the compressor and the remote condenser. Additional charge may be
needed for the condenser.
Any vertical rise of 25 feet (7.62 m) or greater must have a trap in the discharge
refrigeration line from the compressor to the remote condenser. A trap is necessary
for every additional 25 feet (7.62 m) of vertical rise. The easiest method to create a
trap is to bend the tubing (smoothly, with no kinks) into the trap form.
Traps must be a minimum of height of 3 inches (7.6 cm) and a width of 6 inches
(15.2 cm) to minimize oil accumulation. The traps can also be bent out of the refrig-
eration tubing. Carefully bend the tubing down 12 inches, then sweep the tubing
back up.
It is critical that the line size specifications recommended by the manufacturer be
maintained for the remote condenser. The specifications are 1/2 in. dia. discharge
and 3/8 in. dia. liquid lines.
!
CAUTION:
When the connections are made, the seals on the couplings are punctured and if
removed for any reason, the refrigerant charge will be lost.
