  • Page 13: Overview

Overview The 03002 Wind Sentry Set is used to measure horizontal wind speed and direction. Wind speed is measured with a three-cup anemometer. Rotation of the cup wheel produces an ac sine wave voltage with frequency proportional to wind speed.

Disconnect the sensor from the datalogger and use an ohm meter to check the coil. The resistance between the white and black wires for the 03101 and black and red wires for the 03002 should be a nominal 1300 ohms. Infinite resistance indicates an open coil; low resistance indicates a shorted coil.
