Procedure 2 (DOT-6H 360 with extended base)...
1.
Place the DOT-6H 360 Remote Strobe in it's approximate mounting location on the headboard. Be sure that this location will not
expose the DOT-6H to potential damage by contact with other equipment or the vehicle itself. Using a pencil or other suitable
marking device, circle the base to mark the mounting location. Be sure to mark the mounting holes to determine their drilling
location. The DOT-6H should now be removed from the vehicle.
2.
Using a 1/8" (approx.) drill bit, drill through the vehicle headboard at the locations marked in step 1. Using a 3/8" drill bit (a multi-bit
works well for this), drill the harness cable passage hole through the vehicle headboard. Be sure that the passage hole is centered
under the 360 and is completely covered by the DOT-6H when mounted. Be sure to grommet this hole to prevent water leakage.
3.
Insert the end of the harness cable through the passage hole and run it down the front and along the underside of the dump body to
the hinge point. NOTE: Do not pull the cable too tightly and be sure to secure it to the dump body. Leave a 12 inch service loop in
the cable (to allow play when the dump is raised and lowered) and run the cable back along the frame rail into the cab to the power
supply.
4.
Using the supplied #10 x 3/4" sheet metal screws, secure the DOT-6H base to the vehicle.
5.
From inside the vehicle, route the harness cable to the power supply. Insert the pinned wires into the 3 position connector as

Mounting the Remote Head Assembly...

Regardless of which system you are installing, there are a few common considerations when
selecting a mounting location for the remote head:
The location must allow full visibility of the remote head.
The remote head should be mounted in a location that will not be in contact with other vehicles or equipment
that may damage the remote head.
The remote head was designed to be mounted vertically.
The mounting surface must be able to tolerate welding.
Be aware of all of the functions of your specific remote head. This will help determine the location. With the
permanent mounting location determined, the remote head can now be welded into place.
