Operation (standard operation)

4.1 Clamping / aligning

The reliable function of the clamping device is significantly affected by the selection of the
correct jaws.

Servicing, cleaning, maintenance

The HDG2 does not require special servicing since heavily used parts are protected against
soiling.

5.1 General cleaning / lubrication

Important: grease the front bearing of the mechanical force element with
bearing grease or Molycote at least once a week!

Align the vice on the slot table with longitudinal / cross
slots 20 H7 in the base plate, using the precision slot
nuts.
Items are clamped with three bolts through the base
plate or laterally with clamping claws.
 Remove locking pin and move out carriage.
 Do not remove any other parts.
 Clean the base plate and carriage.
 Lubricate the guides on a weekly basis, in the case
of heavy wear, twice a week, e.g. using MOTOREX
Supergliss 68 K lubricant to ISO VG 68.
 Place the carriage with the nut (pos. 30) upwards on
to a firm base.
 Turn the mechanical force element (pos. 80) anti-
clockwise up to the stop.
 Apply two to three grease pump actions to the
exposed grease nipple.
 Turn the mechanical force element clockwise until
the nut is approx. in the centre of the guide so that
the grease can spread.
 Regularly rinse the carriage from below with fresh
cooling water in order to remove surplus grease and
swarf.
