Installation

Location
Make sure there is no risk of flammable gas
leakage
Gas leaking and accumulating around the unit may
cause a fire.
Note
●Avoid installing near machines emitting high frequency waves.
●Malfunctions may occur in certain locations such as the following: - Areas with large amounts of oil droplets (including
machine oil) or vapors - Areas with high levels of salinity near oceans, etc. - Hot springs emitting sulphide gas, etc. - Heavily
acidic or alkaline places.
Special maintenance, etc. is required for use in the above places. For details, contact your original dealer.
●Chemical plants with a cooling system using liquid carbon dioxide.
●Leave enough space around the air inlet and outlet of the outdoor unit so that the ventilation is not restricted.
●Avoid places where strong wind may blow against the air inlet and air outlet of the outdoor unit.
●Attach a snow stand, snow hood, etc. to the outdoor unit for use in areas with snowfall. For details, contact your original
dealer.
●Make sure drain water from the outdoor unit is drained into places with good drainage.
●Make sure the air filter is attached to the indoor unit. If not, dust may accumulate on the heat exchanger, etc. in the air
conditioner and cause water leakages.
●Keep a distance of at least 1 m between the air conditioner/remote control and TVs or radios. Failure to do so may cause
visual disturbance or noise.
●Leave a distance of at least 1.5 m between the air outlet and fire alarms. When a fire occurs, the fire alarm may detect the fire
late, or may not detect it at all.
Be considerate of operation sounds
●Locate the unit in a place secure enough so that the sounds and vibrations are not transmitted elsewhere or amplified.
●If an obstacle is placed near the air outlet of the outdoor unit, noise may increase.
●Choose a location where cool/warm air or noise coming from the air outlet of the outdoor unit will not disturb your neighbours.
Wiring
Confirm that earthing is performed correctly
Improper earthing may result in an electric shock.
Make sure the leakage breaker is securely attached
The leakage breaker is required by law.
If it is not attached, an electric shock may occur.
Install a circuit breaker that meets the specifications in the installation manual and the stipulations in the local regulations and laws.
Capacity shortage of breaker or incomplete installation may cause an electric shock or a fire.
