Troubleshooting
Check the points described below before asking for repair.
Symptom
Cold white mist or water comes
out. Occasionally there is a
shushing sound.
There is an occasional sound
like running water
There is a hissing sound
The expelled air smells
The preparation indicator is lit
The running mode lock
indicator is lit
The pre heat indicator is lit
Sound, white vapour, or cool
air is coming out from a non-
operating indoor unit
The air conditioner makes a clicking

When the air conditioner won't
turn on
The air conditioner doesn't cool
or heat the room sufficiently
If any of the following conditions occur, turn off the main power supply switch and immediately contact the dealer:
The switch operation does not work properly

A foreign object or water has fallen inside the air conditioner

The fan of the outdoor unit have stopped automatically and defrosting is
being performed.
The solenoid valve makes this sound when defrosting starts or finishes.
When the operation has started, during running, or immediately after
running has stopped, a sound like water flowing may be heard, and the
operation sound may become louder for 2 or 3 minutes immediately after
the operation has started. This is the sound of the refrigerant circulating or
the humidifier draining.
This sound is generated when the heat exchanger, etc. expands and con-
tracts slightly due to a change in temperature.
Various smells such as that of the wall, carpet, clothes, cigarettes, or cos-
metics adhere to the air conditioner.
Cooling cannot be performed because another indoor unit is performing
heating.

Is the outdoor temperature out of the operation temperature range?
This is lit when there is an attempt to start an operation which has not
been set by the air conditioner administrator.
The fan has been stopped to prevent the expelling of cool air.
The outdoor unit is performing defrosting.
Refrigerant is being circulated temporarily to prevent the accumlation of
oil or refrigerant in indoor units on stand by. This can cause sounds, white
vapour (when in heating mode) or cool air (when in cooling mode) to
come out of unused indoor units.
The expansion valve makes this sound during operation when the power
is turned on.
The LCD may become temporarily blurred due to static electricity.
Has an ON or OFF timer been set?
Has there been a power failure?
Is the power turned off?
Has the fuse blown or the breaker been tripped?
Has the protective device activated? (The operation indicator is lit)
Has an 'on' timer been set? (The operation indicator is lit)
Have cooling and heating been selected simultaneously? (Standard type only)

Is the outdoor temperature out of the operation temperature range?
Is the air inlet or air outlet of the outdoor unit blocked?
Is the air inlet or air outlet of the outdoor unit blocked?
Are any doors or windows open?
Is the air filter clogged with dirt or dust?
Are the discharge louvers of the indoor unit set at an appropriate angle?
Has the mode been set to 'fan'?
Is the specifi ed temperature appropriate?
Have cooling and heating been selected simultaneously? (Standard type only)

Is the outdoor temperature out of the operation temperature range?
The air conditioner does not run even after the cause of the protective
