If the SpectroProofer isn't
operating correctly, check
the Backing Color setting
in the printer's menus. If
Gray is displayed, unplug
the SpectroProofer, clean it
(see page 19), and re-seat
the cables.

Error Messages

If a problem occurs with the SpectroProofer, you may see a message on the
printer's LCD screen. Check the following list for an explanation and
instructions for solving the problem:
Explanation
The SpectroProofer is not
connected correctly.
The spectrophotometer is not
connected correctly.
The SpectroProofer is not
installed correctly
The SpectroProofer is not
connected to the printer
correctly.
The SpectroProofer is not
connected correctly.
Maintenance and Problem Solving
Solution
Turn off the printer and make sure the
SpectroProofer is connected correctly. Wait
a moment, then turn on the printer again.
Reconnect the cables and select No to turn
off the printer. Wait a moment, then turn on
the printer again. If you do not want to use
the SpectroProofer, select Yes.
