Chapter 13. Optional Dual-port
You can install an optional dual-port Mellanox ConnectX-5 card in the blank PCI riser
assembly. If you purchased the optional PCI card before installing the system, then be sure to
install the card when installing the system. The following steps outline how to install the card,
but you can also use the instructions for guidance in replacing the card or replacing the entire
PCI riser assembly.
13.1. Optional Dual-port ConnectX-5 Card
Installation Overview
This is a high-level overview of the procedure to install the optional dual-port Mellanox
ConnectX-5 PCI card on the DGX-2 System.
1. Remove the motherboard tray and place on a solid, flat work surface.
2. Remove the left-side PCI card riser.
3. Install the optional dual-port ConnectX-5 network card.
4. Replace the left-side PCI card riser.
5. Insert the motherboard tray into the system.
13.2. Installing the Optional Dual-Port

CAUTION: Static Sensitive Devices: - Be sure to observe best practices for electrostatic
discharge (ESD) protection. This includes making sure personnel and equipment are
connected to a common ground, such as by wearing a wrist strap connected to the
chassis ground, and placing components on static-free work surfaces.
