UPC/EAN/JAN Supplemental Redundancy

With Autodiscriminate UPC/EAN/JAN Supplementals selected, this option adjusts the
number of times a symbol without supplementals is decoded before transmission. The
range is from two to thirty times. 14 or above is recommended when decoding a mix of
UPC/EAN symbols with and without supplementals, and the autodiscriminate option is
selected. The default is set at 14.
Scan the bar code below to set a decode redundancy value. Next, scan two numeric bar
codes beginning on page
D-3
in
Chapter D, Numeric Bar
Codes. Single digit numbers must
have a leading zero. In case of an error, or to change the selection, scan Cancel on page D-7.

UPC/EAN/JAN Supplemental Redundancy

Transmit UPC-A/UPC-E/UPC-E1 Check Digit

The check digit is the last character of the symbol used to verify the integrity of the data.
Scan the appropriate bar code below to transmit the bar code data with or without the UPC-
A, UPC-E or UPC-E1 check digit. It is always verified to guarantee the integrity of the data.
