Stop switch with Run and 0 = Stop
positions.
Function of stop switch and ignition
system
The stop switch is normally in the Run
position, i.e. when it is not depressed:
The ignition is switched on – the engine
is ready to start. If the stop switch is
moved to the 0 position, the ignition is
switched off. The ignition is switched on
again automatically after the engine
stops.

Press the manual fuel pump
N
bulb (4) at least five times – even if
the bulb is filled with fuel.
Cold engine (cold start)

Press in the choke lever (5) and turn
N
it to g at the same time.
Warm engine (warm start)

Press in the choke lever (5) and turn
N
it to < at the same time.
Also use this setting if the engine has
been running but is still cold.
Cranking
Remove the chain guard.
N
Place the unit on the ground: It must
N
rest securely on the engine support
and the hook. If necessary, rest the
hook on a raised support (e.g. a
branch, mound or something
similar). Check that the chain is not
touching any object or the ground.
WARNING
Check that nobody is standing within the
working range of the pruner.
Make sure you have a safe and
N
secure footing.
Hold the unit firmly on the ground
N
with your left hand and press down
– do not touch the throttle trigger or
throttle trigger lockout.
NOTICE
Do not stand or kneel on the drive tube.
Hold the starter grip with your right
N
hand.
Pull the starter grip steadily.
N
