Model V1311R-VPS-1 Interface Card for V1311RB Receivers
Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation of Model V1311R-VPS-1 Interface Card for the V1311RB Series
of Receivers. This unit should be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials in accordance with
national, state and local codes. Read these instructions through completely before attempting installation.
The V1311RB receivers are used with a plug-in communications interface board to specify which control system is
used. This interface board must be installed in the receiver. If the V1311RB operates under the control of a Nova
(VPS) control system, the V1311R-VPS-1 communications interface board must be used.
Installation
The V1311R-VPS-1 is mounted to the main PCB in the V1311RB receiver. Refer to Instruction Manual X871 for the
V1311RB for complete instructions and illustrations.
Note: Be sure the power is disconnected from the unit while installing the interface.
1. Remove the four (4) screws from the top of the receiver and carefully lift the cover off the receiver housing.
2. Locate connector J3 on the receiver main PCB. The main PCB is located on the bottom of the receiver. Refer to
Figure 1.
3. Plug connector J2 on the interface board into connector J3 on the main PCB. Refer to Figures 2 and 3.
4. The screw on the right-angle bracket inserts into the PEM™ nut on the receiver main board. Refer to Figure 1.
Tighten the screw on the right-angle bracket to secure the interface card at a 90° angle to the main board.
Note: If the V1311R-VPS-1 is being installed into a V1310RB receiver, remove the right-angle bracket from the
board using a Phillips head screwdriver. Then follow the installation instructions.
5. The V1311R-VPS-1 contains an independent chassis ground wire that must be connected to the receiver
housing. The chassis ground screw is mounted on the same side of the receiver housing as the installed
interface board. Located the chassis ground screw and the chassis ground wire. Remove the nut from the
chassis ground screw and connect the ground wire. Replace the nut.
Refer to X871 for V1311R-VPS-1 for PCB connections and to complete any other installation procedures for the
V1311RB. If no further installation procedures are required, secure the cover onto the receiver housing with the four
previously removed screws.
