Check Broom Shaft Shear
Pin
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
1. Move the machine to a level surface.
2. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove the spark plug wire(s).
3. Check the shear pin located on the broom shaft
on either side of the gear box.

4. If the shear pin is damaged, remove the pin and
replace only with pin recommended by Exmark.
Secure the pin with a nut.

Check Broom Segments
Service Interval: As required
1. Move the machine to a level surface.
2. Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove the spark plug wire(s).
3. Raise the broom by resetting the caster positions.
4. On both sides of the unit, remove and retain the
outer bearing housing hardware.
5. Manually pull the power unit rearward to remove
the broom assembly from the unit.
6. Support the splined shaft on either side of the
gearbox.
7. Stand the broom core assembly on end so
removable end retainer plate is facing upward.

8. Remove and retain the hardware from the end
retainer plate.
9. Remove the damage broom segment(s). Install
the new segment(s) by staggering the metal ring
alignment fingers as shown in Figure 18.
Important: Damage may occur to the broom
assembly if the broom segments are not
properly installed.
10. Reinstall the broom assembly to the unit.
Important: Make sure the bearing setscrews
are tightened before operating the broom.
