Scan tuning
• Press the MENU (or MAN) button
repeatedly until the display
shown opposite appears.
• Use the SEEK button to scan up
or down the selected waveband.
'Scn' flashes in the display and
each station is played for a few
seconds in turn.
• Press SEEK or MENU again to
continue listening to a station.
Alternative frequency (AF) tuning
If your radio has this facility, and you want it to search automatically for
stronger signals when the current one becomes too weak, you merely
have to turn on the appropriate menu option.
• Press and hold the MENU or MAN
button until the display changes.
• Press the MENU or MAN button
repeatedly until the display shown
opposite appears.
• Use the SEEK button to set the
function to your requirements, i.e.
'AF-AUTO', 'AF-ON', 'AF- OFF' or
'AF-MAN'.
With 'AF-ON' or 'AF-AUTO'
selected, the unit continually
evaluates signal strength and, if a
better signal becomes available, the
unit will switch to that alternative.
It mutes while it checks a list of
alternative frequencies and, if
necessary, it will search once
across the selected waveband for a
genuine alternative frequency. It
will restore radio reception when it
finds one or, if one is not found, the
unit will return to the original
stored frequency. On certain units,
'Not Found' will be displayed.
