Roadside emergencies
It is recommended that the wheels of the vehicle be chocked and that no
person should remain in a vehicle that is being jacked.
No person should place any part of their body under a vehicle that is
supported only by a jack; use vehicle support stands if this is required.
The jack should be used on firm level ground with the vehicle parked
away from traffic. Where firm level ground is not available or where the
vehicle or you are at risk of collision with passing traffic, and the vehicle
cannot be moved to a safe firm level location, call for qualified tire
service assistance.
Temporary spare tire information
Your vehicle is equipped with a temporary spare tire. The temporary
spare tire is not as wide as a regular tire and is designed for emergency
use only. Replace this tire with a full-size tire as soon as possible.
If you use the temporary spare tire continuously or do not follow
these precautions, the tire could fail, causing you to lose control
of the vehicle, possibly injuring yourself or others.
When driving with the temporary spare tire do not:
• exceed 80 km/h (50 mph) under any circumstances
• use snow chains
Do not operate your vehicle with more than one Temporary-Use
spare unit fitted at the same time. Vehicle stability and
performance may be affected if these restrictions are ignored.
Tire sealants that are injected through the valves stem are not to
be used to service punctured tires because they can produce
wheel rust and tire imbalance.
Tire change procedure
Exercise caution when jacking vehicles fitted with a Limited Slip
Differential. Power will be delivered to a rear wheel on the ground even
