Installation

– Observe current regulations.
– Size and design the chimney for the LIDIA GT EM
Heating Units in compliance with current local
Regulations for Heating Systems in Buildings
which apply.
– The installation should include a switch, a
circuit breaker or other omnipolar disconnect
switch to isolate all power supply lines to the
Heating Unit.
– Ensure there is a 230V-50Hz single-phase,
earthed power point as well as a water supply
and drain facility near the installation site of the
unit.
– The maximum current draw for the burner or
pump fitted but not supplied by Baxi Calefacción
should be 400W each.
– Connection of components external to the
Heating Unit shall be done using approved
power supply cable - code designation H05 V
V
-F1 105 °C (NOT supplied by Baxi
2
Calefacción).
Assembly
Location
As a rule, the location should be chosen according
to conditions such as access of fuel, flue gas
removal, ventilation, drain, etc.
Always check that the boiler is level on its chosen
installation base and that there is sufficient
clearance from surrounding walls to permit future
maintenance operations.
Hydraulic Connection to the Central
Heating System
– Make the connection to the Flow and Return
circuits through the tappings (1) and (2). Fig. 1 .
– Install the specific safety devices for sealed
system installations, as shown in Fig. 7. In any
case, the size of all safety pipes shall comply
with current regulations.
– Optionally remove the plug in tapping (3) and
fit a drain cock in its place. Fig. 1.
– Install the supplied safety valve as close as
possible to the boiler, with no shut off devices
in between.
Electrical connection, to the flue stack
and to the gas duct
– Make the electrical connection of the pump
using the cable (4) that passes through one of
the 1/4 turn cable clamps (5) located at the top
rear side of the right-hand casing panel. Fig. 1.
– Remove the front casing panel by pulling from
its top side until the snap-on locating pins (14)
disengage from their slots (6). Then, through
its lower part, detach it from the studs (7) on
the side casing panels. Figs. 2 and 3.
– Remove the screws (8) that fasten the rear
part of the top cover to the side casing panels,
slide it backwards until the lower front tabs (9)

them to the control panel and wire them there
as directed in the Instructions that come with
the CC-158 and CC-159 panels.
* Use approved power supply cable - code
designation H05 V
– Replace both the top cover and front casing
panel.
– With LIDIA GT EM boilers, connect the flue
duct to the boiler at (11) and ensure that the
connection is air-tight with pipe jointer material
(rope seal), ceramic fibre gasket or putty which
does not set hard. Figure 1.
Fuel Supply Connection
– Make the burner fuel supply connection
through the tails (flexible hoses) provided.

2
Watertight Test
– Screw the anti-flowback valve of the
hydrometer probe on the control panel at (1).
See figure 1.
– Fill the unit with water and check that there are
no leaks from the hydraulic circuit.

Operation

Procedure prior to the first lighting
– Ensure that the system Flow and Return valves
(if any) are open.
– Check that the unit is full of water and place
the fixed hand of the thermohydrometer in the
position corresponding to the manometric
head.
– Purge the air from the unit and from the
emitters.
– Refill with water if necessary, until the mobile
hand of the thermohydrometer is slightly higher
than the fixed one.

First Lighting

Note: The Neo-Tronic 2RS (LIDIA 20-25 GT EM)
light up 6 minutes after sensing demand for heat.
The Kadet-Tronic 5L and 10L, as well as later
ignitions of Neo-Tronic 2RS, start firing almost
immediately.
Central Heating Service
– Flick the general voltage switch. The green
pilot will light up. The burner and the circulator
are working *.
– Adjust
the
regulation
approximately 80 °C. Check for correct
operation of both this and the safety thermostat.
– Burner operation is governed by the boiler
control thermostat (*) and the ambient
thermostat, if any.
– The Heating pump runs (*).
* With control panels CC-158R and CC-159R, the operation
of the burner and circulator depend on the programme
established in the clock or the outside temperature.
– Check correct operation of both. Regulate the burner
according to the Instructions enclosed with it.
– Check that there are no flue gas leaks and
that radiators reach the required temperature.
– When the safety thermostat has been triggered,
remove its protector and press the switch.
– Purge and check, with the unit in operating
conditions, that the emitters reach the right
temperature.
– Check the burner's safety elements. The red
pilot lights up if they are blocked.
Important Recommendations
– Any modification and/or replacement of cables
and connections, excepting those for the
power supply and the room thermostat, should
be performed by a Baxi Calefacción Service
Technician.
– Officially approved cable - code designation
H05 V
V
-F1 105 °C shall be used for the power
2
2
supply.
– It is recommended that the properties of the
water in the system be as follows:
pH:
between 7.5 and 8.5
Hardness: between and 8 and 12 French
degrees*
* One French degree is equivalent to 1 gram of calcium
carbonate per 100 litres of water.
– If it were absolutely necessary to add water to
the system, wait until the boiler is completely
cold before doing so.
Note:
Specifications and performance qualities are
subject to change without notice.
CE Marked
The LIDIA GT EM Heating Units are certified
to comply with the essential requirements of
the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
89/336/EEC, the Low Voltage Directive 73/
23/EEC, and the Energy Efficiency Directive
92/42/EEC and 97/23/EEC Pressurized
Equipaments, are therefore permitted to carry
the CE mark.
