Microphone mixing
Use a microphone with a standard plug (ø6.3 mm).
1 Connect your microphone to the MIC jack.
2 Press one of the function buttons to select the
source to be mixed, and play the source.
3 Adjust the volume and tone of the source.
4 Turn MIC MIXING to adjust the microphone
volume.
•If the microphone is connected during recording, its input
is recorded mixed with the sound source.
•Keep microphone away from the speakers and adjust its
volume to avoid feedback noise and distortion.
•When the microphone is not in use, turn MIC MIXING to
MIN and remove it from the MIC jack. Pull it out by the
plug, not the cord.
•Use of an AIWA unidirectional microphone is recommended
to prevent howling.

Vocal Fader/Multiplex karaoke
For ordinary audio sources, use Vocal Fader. For multi audio
sources, use Multiplex.
Press SHIFT+KARAOKE on the remote control
repeatedly to select a karaoke mode.
On the unit, press MODE repeatedly to display
"KARAOKE", and press ENTER within 4 seconds. Then
turn MULTI JOG within 6 seconds.
- VF ON (Vocal Fader): The singer's voice becomes softer
than the accompaniment.
- AUTO-VF (Auto Vocal Fader): The singer's voice becomes
softer while there is audio input through microphones.
- MPX-L or MPX-R (Multiplex): Left (or right) channel of
the source is heard from both speakers and the right (or
left) channel of the source is muted.
- AUTOMPX (Auto Multiplex): Left (or right) channel of the
source is heard from both speakers and the right (or left)
channel of the source is muted while there is audio input
through microphones.
•Vocal Fader is not available when the function is CD.
•Vocal Fader may not operate correctly with the following
kinds of tapes.
- Those with monaural sound
- Those recorded with strong echoes
- Those with the vocal part recorded on the right or left
side of the sound width
•Sound source is played in monaural in Vocal Fader/
Multiplex.
•Vocal Fader/Multiplex is canceled when the function is
changed or the unit is turned off.
To change the time lag setting
The muted sound can be restored faster in Auto Vocal Fader
or Auto Multiplex.
When "AUTO-VF" or "AUTOMPX" is displayed, press
ENTER and turn MULTI JOG to select "FAST". The initial
setting is "SLOW". When the function is changed or the
unit is turned off, SLOW is restored.
To change the audible channel in Multiplex
When "MPX-L" or "MPX-R" is displayed, press ENTER
and turn MULTI JOG to select "MPX-L" or "MPX-R". The
initial setting is "MPX-L". When the function is changed
or the unit is turned off, MPX-L is restored.
To cancel the karaoke mode
Press SHIFT+KARAOKE on the remote control repeatedly
until "VF OFF" or "MPX OFF" is displayed.
