Default configuration

When you install the Dell OS onto your system, it is not configured when you power up for
the first time, except for the default host name, which is Dell.
Configure the system using the CLI.
Layer 2 data link configuration
To enable Layer 2 data transmissions through an individual interface, use the switchport
command in INTERFACE mode.
NOTE:
For detailed information about configuring Layer 2, see the
Configuration Guide for the S4048T-ON System .
You cannot configure switching or Layer 2 protocols such as spanning tree protocol (STP)
on an interface unless the interface is set to Layer 2 mode.

Enable the interface.

Place the interface in Layer 2 switching mode.

To view the interfaces in Layer 2 mode, use the show interfaces switchport
command in EXEC mode.
