( )
Set both meter calibrate controls (M andN)
to the middle of their range.
NOTE: It will be necessary to use the adapter
if
you have a 2-prong AC outlet.
( )
Connect the Isolation T r a n s f o r m e r t o your
AC power source and place its POWER
switch in the ON position. The pilot light
should light and the meter pointer probably
will move up-scale, depending on the posi-
tions of the OUTPUT VOLTAGE switches, If,
the pilot light does not light o r if any over-
heating is noticed, IMMEDIATELY UNPLUG
THE ISOLATION TRANSFOR3IER and r e f e r
to the IN CASE O F DIFFICULTY section
of this manual.
( ) Hold the METER switch in the LI?-E posi-
tion and adjust the Low Voltage Calibrate
control (M) s o that the m e t e r indicates the
value of AC line voltage for your location
(usually 117 volts).
(
)
Leave the High Voltage Calibrate controls
(NS) s e t to the middle of its range.
Calibration With T e s t Eqcipment
( ) Adjust the s m a l l plastic s c r e w at the bottom
center of the meter sothat the meter pointer
indicates exactly 90 on the meter scale.
An accurate AC voltmeter, c o v e r u g 90 to 140
volts,
is
required for this calibration pro-
cedure. It should be noted that the Isolation
T r a n s f o r m e r meter accuracy can be no better
than the accuracy of the voltmeter used for
calibration.
( ) Set both meter calibrate controls to the
middle of their range.
NOTE: It will be necessary t o u s e the adapter
if you have a 2-prong AC outlet.
( ) Connect the Isolation T r a n s f o r m e r to your
AC power s o u r c e and place i t s POWER
switch in the ON position. The pilot light
should light and the m e t e r pointer probably
will move up-scale, depending on the posi-
tions of the OUTPUT VOLTAGE switches.
I f the pilot light does not light o r if any
overheating is noticed, IMMEDIATELY un-
plug the Isolation T r a n s f o r m e r and r e f e r
t o the IN CASE O F DIFFICULTY section
of this manual.
( )
Set both the FINE and COARSE OUTPUT
VOLTAGE switches t o their full counter-
clockwise position.
( )
Connect the AC voltmeter a c r o s s the bot-
tom terminals of either Isolation Trans-
f o r m e r output receptacle. Now adjust the
Low Voltage Calibrate control (M) s o that
the Isolation T r a n s f o r m e r meter indicates
the s a m e voltage a s the AC voltmeter.
( )
Set both the FINE and COARSE OUTPUT
VOLTAGE switches fully clockwise, then
adjust the High Voltage Calibrate control
(N)
s o that the Isolation T r a n s f o r m e r m e t e r in-
dicates the s a m e voltage
as
the AC volt-
meter.
( ) Since the High Voltage and Low Voltage
Calibrate adjustments interact, this cali-
bration procedure should be repeated until
no further improvement is obtained.
This
conlpletes calibration of the Isolation Trans-
former.
