OPERATION
7.
Pull the choke knob all the way
out.
If the engine is already
warm do not use the choke.
8.
Push the starter switch with
your left hand while easing the
throttle open with your right
hand.
9.
As soon as the engine starts,
release the starter switch and
throttle. Only enough throttle
should be applied to keep the
engine running.
NOTE:
The choke system functions best with the throttle partially opened. This will aid in
cold starting. Drop the throttle as soon as the engine starts.
NOTE:
If the engine was run out of gas or the fuellwater separator bowl drained, it may take
two or three attempts to start. Do not run the starter for more than ten seconds at
a time as damage to the starter may result.
Starting the engine immediately generates forward thrust. Be seated and
alert when starting the watercraft.
If The
Engine Does Not Start
If the engine does not start within 10 seconds, release the starter switch. Wait 10
seconds before trying again to avoid damaging the starter.
Do not depress the starter switch while the engine is running or while the starter
is still spinning. This causes starter wear and may cause the starter to fail.
If the engine does not start after several attempts see the troubleshooting section
of this manual beginning on page 75.
