4. Connect the external power lines to the SC-206X Series board (if required). See Internal
OY External Power Selection later in this chapter to determine whether external power is
required.
5. Connect the SC-206X Series board to the SC-205X Series board using type SC1 ribbon
cable.
6. Connect the field signals to the SC-206X Series board at the screw terminals.
7. Repeat steps three through five to install and connect any additional boards.
8. If desired, attach the appropriate cover to the rack mount. The optional 19-in. rack-mount
accessory (type DAl) kit includes a flat acrylic plastic cover. You install the cover by
sliding it over the rack-mount brackets and using the four screws included in the kit.
9. If the SC-206X Series board has an external +5 V supply, turn the power supply on now. A
red LED labeled PWR illuminates when the board is receiving power.
10. Turn the computer on.
11. When finished, turn off the computer before turning off any external power supplies for the
SC-206X Series board.
