    Notes on this Manual Scope of Validity This product manual describes the assembly, installation, electrical connec- tions, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of E/F series inverters: E3000 E3600 E4600 E5000 E6000 F4600 F5000 F6000 Note: “3000” = 3kW. Keep this manual where it will be accessible at all times. 1.2 Target Group This manual is for qualified personnel.

    Safety Instruction 2.1 Appropriate Usage The E/F Series are PV inverters which can convert the DC current of the PV generator into AC current and feed it into the public grid.
  • Page 6 Surge protection devices (SPDs) for PV installation Warning! Over-voltage protection with surge arresters should be provided when the PV power system is installed. The grid connected inverter is not fitted with SPDs in either the PV input side or the MAINS side. Lightning will cause a damage either from a direct strike or from surges due to a nearby strike.

    All DC cables should be installed to provide as short a run as possible, and positive and negative cables of the string or main DC supply should be bundled together, avoiding the creation of loops in the system. This require- ment for short runs and bundling includes any associated earth bundling conductors.
  • Page 8 There is residual voltage in the inverter. The inverter takes 20 minutes to discharge. Danger! Persons with limited physical or mental abilities may only work with the FoxESS inverter following proper instruction and under constant supervision. Children are forbidden to interfere with the inverter. Warning! Ensure the output voltage of the proposed PV array is lower than the maximum rated input voltage of the inverter;...

    Installation Steps Preparation Tools shown below are needed before installation. Installation tools: crimping pliers for binding post, stripping pliers, screwdriver, manual wrench and electric drill (drill bit set 8mm). Step 1: Screw the wall bracket on the wall Use the wall bracket as a template to mark the position of the 3 holes on the wall. Drill holes with electric drill, make sure the holes are deep enough (at least 50mm) for installation, and then tighten the expansion tubes.

    5.5 Connection of the Inverter 5.5.1 The Main Steps to Connect to the Inverter PV String Connection E/F series inverters have PV connectors which can be connected in series into 2-strings of PV modules. Please select suitable PV modules with high reliability and quality.
  • Page 23 Note! Please follow the requirements of PV modules as below: same type; same quantity; identical alignment; identical tilt. In order to save cable and reduce the DC loss, we suggest installing the inverter as near to the PV modules as possible. Note! PV connection mode below is not allowed + PV1...

Grid Connection E/F series inverters are designed for single phase grid. Voltage range is 220/230/240V, frequency is 50/60Hz.
  • Page 25 · The AC wiring step: Uninstall the parts of the AC Insert the stripped and bared cable through pressure connection plug from the accessory bag. screw, seal ring, threaded sleeve in sequence, insert cables into connection terminal according to polarities indicated on it and tighten the screws firmly.
  • Page 26 Selection of Fuses and Cables Main cable (AC line cable) shall be short circuit protected and thermal over- load protected. Always fit the input cable with fuse. Normal gG (US:CC or T) fuses will protect the input cable in short circuit situation. They will also prevent damage to adjoining equipment.

Connection steps: 1.Plug the WiFi device into “WiFi” port at the bottom of the inverter. 2.Connect the WiFi with the local router. Set the site account on the FoxESS web(please check the WiFi device user manual for more details).

    5.6 Run the inverter Start inverter after checking all below steps: Check that device is fixed well on the wall. Make sure all the DC breakers and AC breakers are disconnected. AC cable is connected to grid correctly. All PV panels are connected to inverter correctly, DC connectors which are not used should be sealed by cover.

    Troubleshooting Troubleshooting This section contains information and procedures for solving possible problems with the FoxESS inverters, and provides you with troubleshooting tips to identify and solve most problems that can occur with the FoxESS inverters. 7.1.1 Check the fault message on the System Control Panel or a Fault code on the inverter information panel.

    Decommissioning Dismantling the Inverter Disconnect the inverter from DC Input and AC output. Wait for 5 minutes for de-energizing. Disconnect communication and optional connection wirings.
