Problem
Power Light (9) is off. Welder will
not turn on.
Power Light (9) is on. Thermostat
Light (45) is on. But Welder will
not turn on.
Working Light (46) is on. But
Welder will not weld.
Welding functions work properly.
But Timer does not operate.
Excessive sparks when welding.
Welder does not perform at its
optimum capacity.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Possible Cause
No electricity to Welder.
Circuit Breaker has tripped, or
Fuse has blown.
Welder has overheated, and
automatically shut down.
SPLITTER (315)
Poor grounding.
Paint, rust, dirt, etc. have not
been removed from weld area.
Paint, rust, dirt, etc. have not
been removed from grounding
area.
Time Mode Selector (8) is turned
to "CONTINUOUS".
Paint, rust, dirt, etc. have not
been completely removed from
weld area.
Paint, rust, dirt, etc. have not
been removed from grounding
area.
Power input voltage is not up to
required rated voltage of Welder.
Power Cord voltage is not up to
required rated voltage of Welder.
Earth Clamp (14) is not properly
connected. Welding accessory
not properly contacting workpiece.
Paint, rust, dirt, etc. have not
been completely removed from
weld area and/or grounding area.
Wrong welding mode.
Pre-selected welding time is too
short.
Possible Solution
Make sure Power Cord Plug (35)
is plugged into a working 230 volt,
grounded, electrical outlet.
Reset Circuit Breaker, or replace
Fuse.
Wait 30 minutes until Welder
cools. Then, restart Welder.
Wait 30 minutes until Welder
cools. Reduce duty cycle. Then,
restart Welder.
Make sure the Earth Clamp (14)
is securely connected.
Use a portable polisher to remove
all traces of paint, rust, dirt etc.
from the weld area.
Use a portable polisher to remove
all traces of paint, rust, dirt, etc.
from the grounding area.
Set Time Mode Selector (8) to
"TIMED".
Use a portable polisher to remove
all traces of paint, rust, dirt etc.
from the weld area.
Use a portable polisher to remove
all traces of paint, rust, dirt, etc.
from the grounding area.
Make sure the input voltage is at
the rated voltage of Welder.
Replace Power Cord with Power
Cord at the rated voltage of
Welder. (To be done only by a
certified electrician.)
Make sure all connections are
secure.
Use a portable polisher to remove
all traces of paint, rust, dirt, etc.
from the weld area and grounding
area.
Select the proper welding mode.
Select a suitable welding time.
