    ML1500’s Ethernet port and the Ethernet port of your computer, router, or other Ethernet-capable device. If you are using your ML1500 with a wireless router, we will explain how to configure the ML1500 for a router later in this Quick Start.
  • Page 4: Insert The Micro Sim Card

    Insert the micro SIM card To use your ML1500 modem you need an activated micro SIM (3FF format), which you normally get from your mobile broadband service provider. If instead you use a nano SIM card (used by most phones today), you must use a SIM Card Adapter.
  • Page 5 AC power isn’t available. To use the USB port, first plug one end of the included USB power cable into the PWR jack of the ML1500. Plug the other end of the US power cable into the USB port you want to use to power the ML1500.
  • Page 6 If your ML1500 is NOT working, see Troubleshooting Tips and We like to help at the end of this Quick Start. If you want to connect to the Internet through the ML1500 using WiFi, you need a WiFi router that plugs into the ML1500’s Ethernet port.
  • Page 7 If you want to connect the ML1500 to a WiFi Router To configure the ML1500 for use with a WiFi router, you will need to access the ML1500’s Configuration Manager. Make sure that the ML1500 is powered on and plugged into a powered-on computer’s Ethernet port.

    (sometimes called Dynamic mode, or Automatic). Wait for the ML1500 to power up and the Cell Status light to turn either green or amber before turning your WiFi router back on. You should now be able to access the Internet wirelessly through your router.

    ETHERNET Connect the included Ethernet cable from the Ethernet jack of the ML1500 to either the Ethernet jack of your computer or the WAN jack of your wireless router. Insert an activated micro SIM card (3FF) into the SIM slot.

    Username and Password. The default username is admin and the default password is motorola. If this is your first time logging into the ML1500, you will be asked to change the default password after you log in.

The yellow Ethernet jack on the back of the ML1500 has a green LED on it.
  • Page 12 • I’m plugging the ML1500 into the WAN port of a WiFi router and cannot access the Internet. • First, verify that the ML1500 can access the Internet without the WiFi router plugged in. If it can’t access the Internet, please see the troubleshooting tips above.
