Installing a Ethernet SFP optic transceiver module
Use the following procedure to install a Ethernet SFP optic transceiver module.
To install a Ethernet SFP optic transceiver module
1 Put on an ESD-compliant wrist strap or take other ESD-protective measures.
Note: The static discharged by human bodies can damage static-sensitive components on the
boards. When installing and maintaining the equipment you must observe appropriate electrostatic
safety precautions to prevent personnel injuries or device damage.
2 Locate the new Ethernet SFP optic module and remove the black end cap.
3 Lift the lever and slide the replacement SFP optic module into the appliance until it seats firmly
in place and lower the lever.
4 Replace the fibre optic cable by pushing it directly into the Ethernet SFP optic module until it
clicks into place.
