When [Lamp control] is constantly set to [ECO] without switching to other modes = 20 000 hours
When [Lamp control] is constantly set to [QUIET] without switching to other modes = 10 000 hours
If you continue to use the lamp unit when the displayed time in [LAMP] has reached 20 000 hours, the lamp turns off
automatically at approximately 10 minutes after turning on the power, as it will cause malfunction of the projector.
The displayed
time in [LAMP]
f The lamp replacement warning message of "REPLACE LAMP"
19 700 hours ~
is displayed for 30 seconds. If you press any button within 30
20 000 hours
seconds, the warning message disappears.
f The countdown warning message of "REPLACE LAMP THE
PROJECTOR WILL SHUT DOWN AFTER ** MINUTES." ("**"
indicates the countdown time) is displayed for 10 minutes. The
countdown warning message will disappear if you press any button
Over 20 000 hours
within 10 minutes and will reappear on the screen after 1 minute.
f The countdown warning message will be displayed on the screen
each time the input is switched or the projector power is turned on.
f The projector will power off automatically approximately 10 minutes
after the lamp is turned on.
Note
f The lamp replacement warning message will not be displayed in "Freeze" or "AV mute" status.
f The usage period of 20 000 hours which is displayed in [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [STATUS] → [RUNTIME] → [LAMP] is a rough
estimate and is not guaranteed.
Replacing the Lamp unit
Attention
f When the projector is mounted on a ceiling, do not work with your face close to the projector.
f Do not remove or loosen the screws other than specified ones when replacing the lamp unit.
f Make sure to attach the lamp unit and the lamp cover securely.
1)
Turn off the power by following the procedure in "Powering off the projector" (x page 40). Remove
the AC power plug from the wall outlet.
f Wait at least 1 hour and make sure the lamp unit and surroundings are cool.
2)
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the lamp cover fixing screw (×1) until it turns freely and remove
the lamp cover.
f Remove the lamp cover by pulling it slowly toward the direction of the arrow as the above figure shown.
3)
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the three lamp unit fixing screws (×3) until they turn freely.
4)
Hold the used lamp unit by its handles, and pull it gently from the projector.
5)
Insert the new lamp unit in correct direction. Tighten the three lamp unit fixing screws (×3) securely
with a Phillips screwdriver.
f When you experience difficulty in installing the lamp unit, remove it and try again. If you use force to install
the lamp unit, the connector may be damaged.
6)
Attach the lamp cover. Tighten the lamp cover fixing screw (×1) securely with a Phillips screwdriver.
f Perform step 2) in reverse direction to attach the lamp cover.
Resetting the lamp runtime
Be sure to reset the lamp runtime after replacing the lamp unit.
