Maintenance/replacement

Before performing maintenance/replacement

f When you perform maintenance or replacement of the parts, make sure to turn off the power and disconnect the
power plug from the wall outlet.
f Be sure to observe the procedure "Powering off the projector" (x page 40) when performing power supply
operation.

Maintenance

Outer Case
Wipe off dirt and dust using a soft dry cloth.
f If the dirt is persistent, soak the cloth with water and wring it thoroughly before wiping. Dry off the projector with
a dry cloth.
f Do not use benzene, thinner, or rubbing alcohol, other solvents, household cleaners. Using them may cause
deterioration of the outer case.
f When using chemical treated dusters, follow its instruction.
Lens front surface
Wipe the dirt and dust off the front surface of the lens with soft clean cloth.
f Do not use a cloth that has an abrasive surface or a cloth that is moist, oily, or covered with dust.
f Do not use excessive force when wiping the lens as it is fragile.
f Do not use benzene, thinner or rubbing alcohol, other solvents or household cleaners. Using them may cause
deterioration of the lens.
Attention
f The lens may be damaged if you hit with a hard object or wipe with excessive force. Please handle with care.
Air filter unit
In the following cases, remove the air filter unit and check the clogging condition of the air filter. If the air filter is
clogged, clean the air filter unit.
f If the time which is set in [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [FILTER COUNTER] → [TIMER] is reached, the
message of "FILTER COUNTER has reached the set time." that prompts to perform maintenance of the air filter
unit is displayed on the projection screen.
f The warning indicator <WARNING> lights in red in the projection state.
f The warning indicator <WARNING> blinks in red
*1 The indicator flashes in the cycle: 2.0 seconds (light) → 2.0 seconds (off)
Attention
f Make sure to turn off the power before performing maintenance on the air filter unit.
f Make sure that the projector is stable, and perform the maintenance in a safe place even if the air filter unit falls accidentally.
Removing the air filter unit
Chapter 6 Maintenance - Maintenance/replacement
DO NOT WIPE THE LENS DURING OPERATION.
Cleaning the lens during operation may cause foreign objects adhering to the lens or
bring damage to the lens surface.
