sealed, the room ought to be equipped with extra fresh air
supply through vents. Avoid using mechanical fan vents in
a room with a fireplace. This may cause negative pressure
and draw poisonous gases into the room.

Assembly prior to installation

The product is delivered in a single packing case.
• The lower front plate is removable. To avoid it working
loose and falling down during installation, it may be
removed. Lever it out in by the upper edge and lift up.
Please be aware that the little top plate also is loose.
• Remove the plastic from the side plates (apply to steel
plates). In order to accomplish this, the top plate has to
be lifted off the product first.
• When the plastic has been removed, replace the top
plate securely.
• Any stains left by the plastic can be removed with the
aid of a domestic cleaning agent.
Control of functions (fig.2)
When the product is set up, always check the control

satisfactorily.

Installation of flue pipe

It is advisable to carry out a test assembly prior to making
a hole in the chimney. See fig. 1 for measures to wall made
of flammable materials.
Mount a 150 mm diameter flue pipe on the stove. This shall
be at least 1.1 mm thick.
• Mount the 150 mm diameter flue pipe directly on the
flue outlet on the product. On the front part of the flue
outlet on the product you will find a screw (fig. 3-A). Use
this to fasten the flue pipe.
• Make a mark on the flue pipe where the screw hits
when the pipe is at the bottom of the flue outlet, and
drill a 5.5 mm hole in the flue pipe for the screw.
• Use the enclosed gasket cord and perhaps oven cement
as sealant between the flue pipe and the product's flue
outlet. Place the gasket cord around the bottom part of
the flue pipe and fill the gap with cement.
• Fasten the flue pipe.
Note! It is important that the joints are completely sealed.
Air leakage etc. may lead to malfunction.

Connection to chimney

Drill a hole for the flue pipe. The distance from stove to
firewall/chimney shall be at least 40 mm. Always use a
chimney collar when connecting to chimney. Use the
supplier's recommended chimney collar when connecting
to an element chimney. Follow the supplier's assembly and
usage instructions closely with regard to mortar/furnace
cement before starting to use the fireplace.
Ensure that the flue pipe never leans in towards the
chimney. At a minimum it shall be horizontal, preferably a
few millimeters' climb.
Note! A correct and sealed connection is very important
for the proper functioning of the product.
Be alert to the fact that it is particularly important that
connections have a certain flexibility. This is to prevent
setting of the house from leading to fissuration.

Operating instructions

Initial lighting and daily use

Jøtul F 320 is a clean-burning product that by the aid of an
air chamber allows for afterburning of hazardous gases
and particles. It is important that the system is used
correctly.
The stove is equipped with control functions as described
in the section: Control of functions.

Initial lighting

Open the ignition vent on the door fully by moving the vent
all the way to the right (fig. 2-A). Then open the draught
vent by moving it fully by pushing it to the right (fig. 2-B ).
Put in some crumpled newspaper, kindling wood and
firewood and start a small fire. Add more firewood gradually
and let the fire burn briskly for a couple of hours.
Note! Odors when using the stove for the first time.
Enamelled products: Condensation may form on the surface
of the stove the first few times it is used. This must be
wiped off to prevent permanent stains forming when the
surface heats up.

Daily use

Fire up with the aid of newspapers and some kindling wood.
Place two medium sized logs in/out on each side of the
base. Crumple some newspaper (or birch bark) between
these and add some kindling wood in a criss-cross pattern
on top and light the newspaper. Increase the size of the
logs gradually.
