Resolution and Compression
Rate
The H/S button of this camera allows you to select
from two resolutions and two compression rates.

a) File size depends on a picture to be taken.
S mode
The photographed image is processed to fit the VGA
resolution and undergoes JPEG compression. This
resolution is suitable for four-reduced or smaller
prints.
When this mode is selected, the LCD of the camera
displays an S. It takes a short time for the camera to
respond to the user's operations and to communicate
with the station.

The time depends upon the file size after JPEG
compression.
Hi-2 and Hi-1 modes
The photographed picture is processed to fit the SXGA
resolution and undergoes JPEG compression. This
resolution is suitable for two-reduced or larger prints.
When either of these modes is selected, the LCD of the
camera displays Hi-2 or Hi-1. Compared to S mode, it
takes longer for the camera to respond to the user's
operations or to communicate with the station.
