THOR 4 ... THOR 4s
Preliminary Operating Instructions for Speed Governors
Maximum voltage is 15 volts.
Maximum continuous current is 4 amps.
Short-term current up to 12 amps.
RDSON is 0.07 Ohm.
For battery and motor connection 0.5qmm silicone cables are provided.
Ground: 15*12*4,5 mm
BEC supply for receiver and servos
The 5 volts for receiver and servos are available at the servo connector (thin red wire).
Maximum current is 1000 mA (enough for about 2 servos, but depends on the number of cells).
This voltage is short-circuit proof and temperature protected.
Attention: This means that in case of overtemperature this voltage switches off and the receiver would be
temporarily without current (danger of accident)! Therefore, carry out extensive tests, preferably
with loaded servos (rubber rings can simulate the servo load).
Control range
The THOR4s is „self-learning" This means that the controller recognizes the throttle stick position of the
transmitter even during switch-on and considers this position as zero travel, regardless of the trim position!
If the stick is then pulled backwards, the engine turns backwards, infinitely variable up to the maximum
speed. If the stick is pushed forward, the motor rotates steplessly forward up to the maximum speed.
The THOR4 is NOT self-learning.
Switching the controller on/off
Switching the RECIPIENT OFF already leads to a very safe motor standstill.
In this state the controller still works, but only consumes a few milliamperes.
SWITCH OFF THE RECEIVER IF NO ADDITIONAL RECEIVER BATTERY IS USED:
Cut the red wire of the servo cable and connect a switch.
SWITCH OFF THE RECEIVER IF AN ADDITIONAL RECEIVER BATTERY IS USED:
Pull the red wire of the servo cable out of the servo plug (lift the black plastic tab slightly)
(or simply cut the wire). Install the switch in the receiver battery cable.
Attention:
The range of the RC system should be checked before the first ride, as this controller has very hard
switching flanks!
If the controller is defective, the motor may start even when the receiver is switched off!
