5. CONNECTING THE PLAYER TO YOUR PC ¶U I nsert the SmartMedia card completely into the slot. 1. Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the CD-ROM driver icon to open it. The MPMan-F50 Manager is communication software that allows your computer to share information with the player. In order for the player to work properly, the MPMan-F50 Manager software must be installed correctly under Windows 98 or Windows 2000. -

CHAPTER 3 Before you begin, make sure the player is properly connected to the USB port of the PC and the MPMan-F50 Manager software has been properly installed. Double-click on the MPMan F50 icon on the Windows desktop or choose the MPMan F50 item from the Start S O F T WARE OPERAT I O N menu to activate the program. - Page 9 This will initialize the Flash Memory in the player. All files stored in Flash Memory will be erased. You may need to initialize Flash Memory when for some reason the player is not being recognized by the MPMan-F50 Manager software.
