One of the following requirements must be fulfilled: 5.2.5 Motor protection • A single protective earth conductor having a cross-sectional The pump requires no external motor protection. The motor area of min. 10 mm copper. incorporates thermal protection against slow overloading and blocking (IEC 34-11, TP 211).

5.2.8 Start/stop of pump Group 2 Group 3 The number of starts and stops via the mains voltage Caution must not exceed 4 times per hour. When the pump is switched on via the mains, it will start after approximately 5 seconds. If a higher number of starts and stops is desired, use the input for external start/stop when starting/stopping the pump.
5.3 Signal cables 6. Modes • Use screened cables with a conductor cross-section of min. Grundfos E-pumps are set and controlled according to operating 0.5 mm and max. 1.5 mm for external on/off switch, digital and control modes. input, setpoint and sensor signals.
6.3 Control mode 8. Setting by means of control panel The pump control panel, see fig. 17, incorporates the following 6.3.1 Pumps without factory-fitted sensor buttons and indicator lights: The pumps are factory-set to control mode uncontrolled. • Buttons, , for setpoint setting. In control mode uncontrolled, the pump will operate according to •...
The pump is designed for wireless communication with the (top light field flashes). When the top light field is on, press Grundfos remote control R100. 3 seconds until the light field starts flashing. To return to uncontrolled or controlled operation, press continuously until the desired setpoint is indicated.
Displays in general 9.1.2 Operating mode In the following explanation of the functions, one or two displays are shown. One display Pumps without or with factory-fitted sensor have the same function. Two displays Set one of the following operating modes: Pumps without or with factory-fitted pressure sensor have •...
Warning (only three-phase pumps) 9.2 Menu STATUS The displays appearing in this menu are status displays only. It is not possible to change or set values. The displayed values are the values that applied when the last communication between the pump and the R100 took place. If a status value is to be updated, point the R100 at the control panel and press "OK".
9.2.4 Speed 9.2.9 Time till replacement of motor bearings (only three- phase pumps) When the motor bearings have been relubricated a prescribed number of times stored in the controller, the display in section 9.2.8 Time till relubrication of motor bearings (only 11-22 kW) will be replaced by the display below.

The table below shows the suggested controller settings: How to set the PI controller For most applications, the factory setting of the controller constants Kp and Ti will ensure optimum pump operation. However, in some applications an adjustment of the controller System/application Heating Cooling...

9.3.8 Stop function 2. Flow switch When the digital input is activated for more than 5 seconds because there is low flow, the speed will be increased until the stop pressure (actual setpoint + 0.5 x ΔH) is reached, and the pump will stop.
Page 19
9.3.9 Flow limit for the stop function (only three-phase 9.3.11 Duty/standby (only three-phase pumps) pumps) The duty/standby function applies to two pumps connected in parallel and controlled via GENIbus. Flow limit for the stop function only works if the Note system is not set up for flow switch.
Stop 10. Setting by means of PC Tool E-products Max. Special setup requirements differing from the settings available via the R100 require the use of Grundfos PC Tool E-products. Stop Stop This again requires the assistance of a Grundfos service Max.
12. External forced-control signals 13. External setpoint signal The pump has inputs for external signals for these forced-control The setpoint can be remote-set by connecting an analogue signal functions: transmitter to the input for the setpoint signal (terminal 4). • Start/stop of pump •...
14. Bus signal The pump supports serial communication via an RS-485 input. The communication is carried out according to the Grundfos bus protocol, GENIbus protocol, and enables connection to a building management system or another external control system. Operating parameters, such as setpoint, operating mode, etc. can be remote-set via the bus signal.

The functions of the two indicator lights and the signal relay are as shown in the following table: Indicator lights Signal relay activated during: Fault/Alarm, Description Fault Operation Warning Pump Operating Ready (red) (green) running Relubricate The power supply has been switched off. Permanently The pump is operating.
17. Insulation resistance 2. Disconnect the motor supply conductors, U/W1, V/U1, W/V1, from the terminal box. 0.37 - 7.5 kW Do not measure the insulation resistance of motor Caution windings or an installation incorporating E-pumps using high voltage megging equipment, as this may damage the built-in electronics.
When it is time to replace the varistor, R100 and PC Tool E-products will indicate this as a warning. A Grundfos technician is required for replacement of the varistor. Contact your local Grundfos company for assistance.
Maximum cable length: 500 m. 1.1 to 3.0 less than 5 Bus input (supply voltage greater than 460 V) Grundfos bus protocol, GENIbus protocol, RS-485. 4.0 - 5.5 less than 5 Screened 3-core cable: 0.2 - 1.5 mm / 28-16 AWG.
(second environment). • Voltage signal If equipped with an external Grundfos EMC filter, the 0-10 VDC, Ri greater than 50 kΩ. motors are category C2, corresponding to CISPR11, Tolerance: + 0 %/- 3 % at maximum voltage signal.
22. Disposal This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an environmentally sound way: 1. Use the public or private waste collection service. 2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest Grundfos company or service workshop.
