Not with your foot!). Grip the starter handle, slowly pull out the cord with your right hand until you feel some resistance (the starter pawls grip), now quickly and powerfully pull the cord. -

Move the cutting device lightly through the cutting surface in a sweeping motion following the shape of the hedge or shrub. A slight tilt downwards of the cutting device in the direction of motion is recommended for optimum cutting performance. -

MAINTENANCE To ensure good cutting results it is important that the contact pressure between the blades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as far as they will go. Lock the screws using the locking nut on the top of the bar. -
